May 9, 2012

The EPA CHP team is informing our partners of New Jersey's Clean Energy Solutions Large Scale Combined Heat and Power (CHP)-Fuel Cells program solicitation.

The state of New Jersey has issued a Clean Energy Solutions Large Scale CHP-Fuel Cells Program Solicitation. The program will offer assistance to support large sized CHP projects including stand-alone qualified fuel cells. This program will be designed to assist those implementing a CHP, combined cooling heat and power, or fuel cell project with an electric generating capacity of greater than one megawatt. The project should serve a governmental, commercial, institutional, or industrial electricity customer in New Jersey. Additionally, CHP systems with waste heat utilization must achieve annual system efficiency of at least 65 percent.

The grant award will be a function of the system size and amount of electricity that the CHP-Fuel Cells project generates. Total Clean Energy Solutions Large Scale CHP-Fuel Cells Program awards cannot exceed $3 million per project with maximum percent of project cost capped at 30 percent for CHP and 45 percent for fuel cell projects.

The deadline to apply for funding is June 25, 2012 at 5:00 pm EST. For more information on this solicitation, please visit the New Jersey Economic Development Authority's website.
